Workshops wanted in Nelson: who we would like to hear from
Nelson is a regional city at the top of the South Island, and for most people who live there a car is part of daily life: the commute, the school run, the weekend trip to the beach or the hills. When that car needs a WOF, a service or new tyres, the usual routine is to ring a few places, explain the problem more than once and hope the first answer is a fair one.
Nelson's garages, tyre shops, detailers and wrap and tint specialists already look after those cars. Motorfy is not here to replace them. It is one more way for a local business to be found by drivers who want to compare quotes before they book.
Nelson also sits close to beaches, vineyards and national parks, so plenty of drivers cover a lot of kilometres at weekends, which keeps tyres, brakes and servicing on the to-do list. A workshop that is easy to find and quick to quote has a real edge when those jobs come up.
- Mechanics and general workshops doing WOFs, servicing, brakes and repairs
- Tyre shops fitting and balancing tyres, including wheel alignment
- Wrap and tint shops
- Detailers
- Panel and paint businesses, and other automotive specialists
If you run a garage, tyre shop or auto repair business in Nelson, there is probably a place for you. Anything automotive can be listed.
What happens when you list your workshop
Listing takes a few minutes and it is free to join. Registration asks for your business details, including your business address and NZBN, and workshops are reviewed before they can quote.

How Motorfy works for Nelson workshops
A driver sends a request
They pick a service or describe the problem in their own words, and add their car and any photos.
You send a quote
The request arrives in your portal with a notification. You reply with your price and your earliest slot.
The driver books
They compare the quotes they receive. Accepting yours books the job, and you can chat with them before or after.
You stay in control of your work
- You set your own prices. Motorfy never dictates what you charge.
- You can decline any request that does not fit your skills or your week, with no penalty.
- Payment is held until you mark the job complete.
- Questions are answered in chat, so there is less phone tag.
Find the page for your trade
Each trade uses Motorfy a little differently. Mechanics can read about online quote requests for mechanics, and tyre shops can see how to get more customers. Wrap and tint shops and detailers have their own pages too: wrap and tint shops and detailers.
You can also see every area we are looking at on the workshops wanted page, or read how a free workshop listing works.
