Why workshop jobs come in waves

Whether you run a garage, a mechanic business or an auto repair shop, work rarely turns up evenly. Almost every workshop knows the pattern: a packed Thursday, then an empty Tuesday. Word of mouth is wonderful, but it is slow, and you cannot switch it on when the diary looks thin. Paid ads can bring clicks that never turn into bookings, and phone enquiries interrupt the work you are already doing.

What helps is a steady flow of customers who already know what they want done and are ready to compare prices. That is the idea behind taking quote requests online instead of waiting for the phone to ring.

How Motorfy helps you get more workshop jobs

You can chat with the driver before or after they accept, so questions get answered in one place instead of through phone tag.

A driver sends a request

They pick a service or describe the problem in their own words, then add their car and any photos.

You send a quote

The request arrives in your portal with a notification. You reply with your price and your earliest slot.

The driver compares and books

They compare the quotes they receive, and accepting yours books the job.

You stay in charge of the work

  • You set your own prices. Motorfy never dictates what you charge.
  • You can decline any request that does not suit your skills or your week, with no penalty.
  • Payment is held until you mark the job complete.
  • The whole conversation stays with the job, so nothing gets lost between calls.

The kind of work that arrives

Drivers use Motorfy for everyday jobs such as WOFs and servicing, brakes, tyres and wheel alignment, mechanical repairs, diagnostics and warning lights, batteries and air conditioning. Requests can also cover window tinting, vinyl wraps, detailing, and panel and paint. Anything automotive can be listed, so if you work on cars, Motorfy can bring you customers.

Drivers do not need to know what is wrong before they ask. Some simply describe a noise or a warning light, and workshops quote to inspect it first. That suits mechanics who would rather see the car than guess over the phone.
